Our Mélange series is a chance to roll out the barrels, roll up our sleeves and explore flavors that cannot be achieved outside of the art of the blend or by any one beer. French for “blend”, this mélange fuses the mature character of some of our most vintage barrels of barleywine and old ale with the dark depth of our imperial stouts, including both Tuesday-themed releases and Share This. This mélange is one for all, with rich, complex notes and the signature kiss of oak.

Avery Barrel Aged Coconut Porter

Avery Coconut Porter is a chocolatey porter, brewed with fresh coconut, and aged for a few months in bourbon barrels until ready for the big time. This release was slated for around this time last year, aged in rum barrels. The lot of barrels that Avery received didn’t pass muster, so it was back to the drawing board. Hopefully a year of recipe tweaks have done well by this beer.

Scofflaw Basement IPA

This juicy IPA was developed in our "underground" basement brewery. Shhh...don’t ask what was happening in the basement, but the beer flows out of the tap a deep persimmon with a fluffy khaki foam. The only dank aroma emanating from this basement is one of earthy tones, juicy citrus, and a hint of lemongrass all derived from Citra hops. Basement IPA is balanced with a nice malty body that creates a sweet finish and developed hop notes in every sip. There is a hint of alcohol heat on the way down for this hop forward northeast style IPA. Beer geeks rejoice but you have to leave your parent’s basement because for now Basement IPA is only at your local establishment.

It is extremely refreshing and very quaffable for cider, beer, or wine drinkers. It is delicious when consumed ice cold. Anchor Meyer Lemon Lager

This offering is quite different from Anchor's traditional and historical Anchor California Lager. Meyer Lemon Lager uses two different malts; pale two-row and Pils. In the whirlpool we use California cluster hops, then dry hop the beer with Nugget, Steiner, and Experimental No. 07270 hops. Our special ingredient is the California-grown Meyer Lemons, which are a cross between a true lemon and an orange, adding a sweeter, less acidic flavor than traditional lemons.

Creature Comforts Tropicalia

A balanced, soft, and juicy IPA. Ripe passion fruit and citrus hop aroma lead to a full, fruit-forward hop flavor that washes over the palate, ending with subtle bitterness. Some folks say they don’t like hoppy beers, and to that we say that hops do not equal bitterness. To us, hops offer a plethora of flavors, not just bitterness; and in Tropicália it’s a beautiful, luscious, fruit journey for your palate to enjoy without fatigue.
